2024 first half highlights
It's been 6 months to this day since we celebrated the 20th birthday of Studio LOOS! For this occasion we would like to share some of the highlights of the first half of 2024:
We celebrated 20 years of Studio LOOS! The celebration included a concert evening with Baidar Al-Basri, Gerard Bouwhuis , Farzaneh Nouri, Leslee Smucker, Johan van Kreij and QUARTET I including Peter van Bergen , Wilbert de Joode, Ike van Bergen and Giacomo Camilletti.
During this evening, LOOS founder and director Dr. Peter van Bergen was royally awarded Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau by Mayor Van Zanen of The Hague for his work in new music (composition, improvisation, interactivity, jazz) and his work with LOOS/Studio LOOS
Studio LOOS welcomed two different symposia by ACPA/University of Leiden led by Prof. Dr. Marcel Cobussen.
LOOS facilitated artistic investigations by Lucie Nezri, Nirantar Yakthumba and Sean Bell, and more.
We welcomed the inception of a new concert series - intersect.SERIES curated by Farzaneh Nouri, and hosted three editions!
Studio LOOS hosted five editions of the HACKLAB workshops led by Johan van Kreij!
We presented the masterclass for IOM-AIM Research / OUTSIDE INSIDE (artificial improvisation and the collaboration between humans and computers) led by Peter van Bergen and Johan van Kreij at ARTEZ Arnhem!
